Meiji Jingū
明治神宮
A large shrine inside a planted forest, a few minutes from one of the busiest stations in the city.
The forest is entirely man-made, planted with donated trees when the shrine was founded. Walking the gravel approach from the entrance torii takes about ten minutes and is the point of the visit as much as the shrine itself.
